Bistro 7
Everything about Bistro 7 is designed to accent the food. The exterior is flat blue, with no prominent street sign (it’s on the east side of 3rd street, just North of Market). After passing through a set of curtains that surround the door, one is greeted by an airy space with walls devoid of adornments. One might find such an interior cold, but I found the openness inviting, given the cramped nature of many other Old City BYOBs. Also, about a quarter of the dining room is taken by the open kitchen—-a trend that has become increasintly popular as of late. Also of note is the fact that Bistro 7 has a relatively nice array of stemware—-a detail that is often overlooked by BYOBs. The food itself is consistent and excellently prepared, if not as imaginative or exotic. What most draws me to Bistro 7 is its prime location, inviting inerior, and excellent service. They also offer a very reasonable Sunday brunch, that I recommend.
