Review:

I first ate at Divan with a Turkish friend of mine who claims it is exactly as if she were back at home in Istanbul. I can buy this, since it’s the best Turkish food I’ve ever had. For that matter, it’s one of the best Mediterranean-style restaurants to which I’ve ever been. Unlike many other “authentic” ethnic restaurants in Philly, however, Divan is both staffed and patronized by an equal distribution of Turkish expatriots and Philadelphia locals, making the restaurant more accessible for those who are less adventurous. The interior was recently renovated in a modern motif, making it almost indistinguishable with the vast array of other “trendy” BYOBs that our fair city is constantly sprouting. I actually prefer this, as I find overly-ethnic interriors to often be forced and cheesy. The restaurant itself is a bit off the beaten path, but its area is in a state of incline, and is easily walk-able from the Rittenhouse Square area (although this might not be suggested at night). The food at Divan is all excellent; I don’t have any specific recommendations, because everything is good. Make sure you try the Turkish coffee.

why Divan Turkish Kitchen is not in your BYOB list to vote?

I think you should add Divan Turkish Kitchen in your BYOB listing section for voting.
Thanks.
