Koch's Deli
Review:
Koch’s Zagat
rating (28/30) puts it on par with the likes of Le Bec Fin
. If that doesn’t tell you that they make a mean sandwitch, going there will; it’s an experience. Hidden away on the outskirts of the University of Pennsylvania
campus, Koch’s can be a bit out of the way for most people, but they make the best sandwiches in the city. On weekends lines from their small take-out shop can extend outside (be prepared for hour-long waits). But don’t worry; complimentary slices of meat, cheese, and pickles are passed down the line as you wait. The prices might seem a bit steep (the hoagies can be almost $9 each), but they are usually enough for two hungry people. Koch’s is open every day except Wednesday.
